      I received a check from a US Bank customer written on their US Bank account. I wanted to cash the check and went to a US Bank branch to cash this check written by a US Bank customer on their US Bank account. While I was waiting in line, one of the tellers was bragging on how they are opened more days of the year than a credit union. When I was up to the counter and presented this check written by a US Bank customer on their US Bank account, the teller said there was going to be a five dollar fee to cash a US Bank check on a US Bank's customer's account. Keep in mind that the teller did not assess the availability of funds (though I know it is a good check). He simply said that I would have to become a US Bank customer in order to cash a US Bank check written by a US Bank customer. I will continue to do business with my Credit Union. I'd rather save the fees by these big banks and wait till Monday to do my banking.
