  The worst loan experience I have ever had. Do not use WaFd for a loan. Communication was sparse and not concise. Specific required details about a land loan (inspections) were not disclosed or appropriately communicated by bank staff until after complete. On top of those costs, they completed my appraisal before inspections were finished. This cost another $750--and they refuse to reimburse me, even though that was their error. I lost a total of over $2500, and they have done nothing to make it right (except "file a complaint with corporate.") I had a large down payment and excellent credit, but was declined at the very end (60 days later, 10 days from closing) due to an inspection requirement left out from the very beginning. (Choose a developed piece of land that's ready to live on NOW, as any "plans" or development will not be considered as reputable, even if included in your contract with the seller). I chose 2 stars (instead of 1) because the ladies who work there tried to be kind. But they completely missed the mark when dealing with people's homes, lives, and futures. Go elsewhere.

  Ha! Worst customer service I've seen in a long time. Went in to apply for an account and was told my old bank had a report on ChexSystems(?) and they would not open an account. I returned home, called my old bank and was told they would follow up. They called the next day and said the matter was cleared up and it had been reported to ChexSystems and if I needed, WF could call and they would confirm. A few weeks later(today) I walked in and spoke with the same CS rep. I explained the situation and she said 'It will take 30 days otherwise the same report will show up'. My old bank said that no, that is not how they report. Anyways, I look at her and said 'So you still won't open an account?' 'No.' Then she turns and starts fiddling with her computer. I got up and said 'I won't be back.' and walked out. Guess if that's how they treat new customers I'm glad I didn't open an account. Wouldn't touch this bank if they paid me. Bye!
