  Love Beacon as a Credit Union but this particular location always seems understaffed. They are friendly, though.

  It pains me to give a local business that is probably full of great people a poor review but I have very sour taste in my mouth. Three years ago I purchase a car from Billy Craft Honda (you're next BH) and I financed through Beacon. I was told I need to open an account and put $30 in it for the loan. I asked the finance person at BH "Is this one of those schemes where they will take $5 a month out until the money is gone?" He said absolutely not and I could get my money back plus some interest when I finish my loan. Yesterday I go into the branch to pay my car off 2 years early and get the payoff amount. Beacon tells me my account is -27$ and I need to pay that in addition to the pay off amount. This is not worth my time so I say, fine, give me the payoff amount and close my account. I was told I would need to return later in the day after my payoff amount was processed to close my account. I was told they'd give me my $27 back then. Again, this is not worth my time. I go back later in the day, close the account and get my $27 back. But here's the kicker: not a word was said about the $30 I used to open the account that Beacon took. It's my opinion this small bank uses big bank tactics to nickle and dime you. I'd prefer to stick with my "Mega monster bank" because things like this do not happen there.

  My mom and I both have accounts here and both have similar first names, today i deposited a check and they put it in her account, its happened not just once but TWICE. We have completely different addresses, socials and account numbers. Its ridiculous they have deposited my money into her account twice. Im closing my account with them tomorrow
