  Many thanks to Nick Burnett of the Knowles Company for helping me with a land purchase on MDI in fall of 2020. Being 'from away' and unable to travel due to Covid, we did the whole transaction remotely and I was super well served all the way through. Nick is honest, clear and concise, and responsive - I could not have asked for better service throughout the transaction. I highly recommend his services if you are in need of a real estate agent. I could not be happier with the outcome of my working with him!

  I filled out a web form inquiring about a rental for summer 2022. Nikki Hooper replied and said she'd check with the owner re: rental dates. I checked back in, she said she hadn't heard from the owner of the property; that happens and isn't her fault. I replied with a few alternative properties we'd be interested in renting. No response. I emailed again, politely, to check-in. No response. We're still interested in renting in Acadia but, sadly, not with this agency since their communication is so poor.

  Covid threw a big wrench into many plans in 2020. My wife and I had to cancel a couple of reservations - Florida and Maine. Our Florida rental agency refunded everything 100%. Understandably disappointed but fair toward us. They even held a non refundable deposit of a couple hundred dollars and held it toward our 2021 rental. We had rented prior summers through Knowles - but this year was so disappointing! They spouted off about needing to cover the overhead of their office and how hard it was for them blah, blah, blah. They kept almost $500 and refused to refund it. They must not think that anyone reads these reviews. Or that nobody cares about being treated fairly. If you think that makes sense you should rent through them. If you work hard for your money and value fairness, look for a realtor who will value your business. Nothing disparaging here. Just the facts!!!

  Hi Jack - we know COVID interrupted a lot of plans for so many travelers. We regret that you weren’t able to get tested prior to your September stay as it’s a lovely time to visit this area and the state was open to those who had received a negative test. Per the terms of your lease, commission is non-refundable, but we agreed to discount the commission we withheld to try to minimize your loss.
