  I was advised to consult with Ameris bank for a VA Loan. I signed paperwork in December not realizing that my lender representative was not locking me into a rate. Late April 2022 rolls around and as I conduct an inspection with the Builder, both the Builder and I realize I need to check on my rate lock. It was then that I learned I was not locked into a rate, nor was my lender attempting to lock me into a rate. The rate he was also offering was not competitive with VyStar or Navy Federal. I was not met with a professional exchange regarding the rates or my options for a rate lock. It is now late June and my house is supposed to be complete next month. Still, no rate lock! When I inform the lender that I would no longer move forward with the loan I also informed him that I was unappreciative of the poor, ineffective communication. Instead of a professional exchange I was met with, "well I guess you didn't read." My recommendation - with as difficult as the house buying process currently is, don't add to the complications by choosing this branch as your lender.

  I absolutely love Ameris bank. Everybody in the branches are so friendly to talk to and very helpful. My company has a business account and I have a personal account with Ameris bank. I rarely have an issue and if I did I visit a branch and they took care of it right away. They can even re-issue a debit card on the spot so you don’t have to wait 7-10 days for a new debit card to come in the mail. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a stable financial institute to bank with.
