  Everything was going great until I attempted to deposit a check for the sale of my car. The car was located on the West coast as I couldn’t bring it with during a recent move. So, the buyer used a local credit union on the west coast. Prompting chase to lock my account. Granted, this does make sense. It’s strange for a New Yorker to be cashing checks from a local bank located on the opposite side of the country. However, after they locked my accounts I went to this local bank To get things sorted. It ended up that the manager, Abdullah, called the buyer’s credit union to check the validity of a check. Completely failing to recognize that there may not be enough funds in their account at the time of the call. Because, I had deposited the check three days prior. However, Abdullah told me and some chase representatives this meant it would bounce. Well, pull my pigtails and call me sally, it cleared……… shocker. Which wouldn’t have been an issue if they didn’t close my account immediately after the hold and check cleared. When I called they said they closed it because it was restricted for 7 business days, which was also the length of the hold. Now, I have to wait another week or so to get a cashiers check of the full account balance. Mind you I haven’t been able to touch any money already for two weeks because of the restriction and it’s the beginning/end of the month. All because of a simple check and some poorly understood information. I suggest using another bank, someone local who doesn’t just screw over their customers.

  The staff at this bank are extraordinarily helpful and take great attention in their work with customers. Kathy and Christine were especially helpful. I would happily recommend this branch to anyone in the area!
