  The teller was on her cell phone. She was talking to the person on her phone. She had to ask me again what I wanted. I let her know she would have retained the information I gave her had she not been on her phone.

  While cashing a check I was asked for my Social Security Number. I asked why they needed my SS# the teller got angry and said it was to identify me. So I asked him how he was using it to identify me and the teller said take the check and go to your bank and cash it. So I will I highly recommend going to another bank and avoid this one at all cost. Why do they have to charge $8 to cash a check drawn on there bank anyway.

  Hi Cecil, This certainly isn't the type of service we strive to provide, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will forward this to our branch partners. KeyBank is glad to render services to our customers — services they pay for through regular checking account service charges. We are just as glad to render these same services to those who are not yet our customers – we simply ask that they “pay as they go” for them. Checks cashed by those who are not our customers still require the same level of service, hence the fee. We also feel strongly that consumers should have the choice to either cash a check at KeyBank and pay the fee, or choose not to and go to their own financial institution. That is why the teller informed you of the fee before you completed the transaction. Please be aware that KeyBank policies comply with the Uniform Commercial Code.
